I had an excellent experience with GL Hunt Foundation Repair. Justin came into my home and looked at the areas I had concerns with and did his own evaluation. Fortunately, there was no major damage going on. He patiently took the time to explain and show me what I should look for going forward. If there is any work I need in the future, I will use this honest company.

They just came out to survey and inspect the issues and have worked up an estimate for repair at this point. Very impressed with Derek and the time he took overall with the inspection, as well as explaining the process required for the recommended repairs. Friday afternoons, most people are doing everything they can to hit to the house as soon as possible. I plan on having a couple more companies come out to do the same. I will definitely take this in to account deciding who to hire.

Brian, provided a through inspection of our homes foundation and did an excellent job explaining the causes of foundation problems. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. In our case we did not need foundation repair, which is a testament to this company’s willingness to evaluate a customer’s home and walk away without trying to sell you something that is not needed. I was very impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism. We will use them again in the future.

Overall great experience. This is the second time we’ve used the company for foundation repair. The first time was about 8 years ago and the work they did is still holding well. They came out to put in piers on a different part of the house and the experience was even better than the last time. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and professional and the work was performed quickly and correctly the first time. G.L. Hunt is the best foundation repair company I’ve dealt with, but this experience was one of the best I’ve had with any company. Highly recommend!

Plano Foundation Settlement Services

What is Plano Foundation Settlement Services?

The process of building a foundation for a new structure or construction is known as foundation settling. This procedure often entails digging the site to form a foundation hole, then pouring concrete into the hole and leveling it off. The foundation is ready to use after the concrete has hardened.

Foundation settling can be triggered by a wide range of circumstances, including poor soil conditions, insufficient drainage, and harsh weather conditions. Seismic activity or other natural calamities can also induce settlement. Foundation settling, if not addressed, can cause major harm to the building placed on top of it.

Proper soil preparation, good drainage, and cautious building practices can all help to prevent foundation settlement. In rare circumstances, specific grouting or piers may be required to stabilize the foundation. If foundation settling occurs, it is critical that it be fixed as quickly as possible to avoid severe structural damage.

WHAT CAN CAUSE FOUNDATION SETTLEMENT ISSUES?

One of the most common issues that can lead to foundation settlement is poor drainage around the home. When rainwater and melting snow seep into the ground, it can cause the soil to expand and contract, which can put pressure on the foundation and cause it to settle. In addition, if there are any water leaks inside the home, such as from a plumbing issue, this can also add to the moisture in the ground and lead to foundation settlement.

Another common cause of foundation settlement is tree roots growing beneath the foundation. As tree roots grow, they can push up on the foundation and cause it to settle. In addition, if there are any large trees near the home, their roots can also put pressure on the foundation and cause it to settle.

Finally, foundation settlement can also be caused by the soil itself. If the soil is too soft or too loose, it can’t support the weight of the home and will start to settle. In addition, if there are any voids or empty spaces in the soil, this can also cause the foundation to settle.
